Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) is an Australian Government department that provides support, healthcare funding, and services to eligible current and former members of the Australian Defence Force and their dependents.
We accept eligible Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) clients at both of our Biotune Chiropractic locations.
Accessing Chiropractic Care Under DVA
To access chiropractic services through DVA, clients must obtain a valid referral from their General Practitioner (GP), provide their DVA card number, and confirm whether they hold a Gold Card or White Card.
Eligibility and the scope of care depend on the type of DVA card held and the details of the GP referral.
What is the Difference Between the DVA Cards?
DVA Gold Card
Clients who hold a DVA Gold Card may access chiropractic care for clinically necessary care for any medical condition, in line with the GP referral.
Key information:
- A GP referral is required
- Referrals are valid for 12 months from the date of issue
- The number of consultations is based on the GP referral and within the referral period
DVA White Card
Clients who hold a DVA White Card may access chiropractic care only for accepted service-related injuries or conditions approved by DVA Repatriation Commission.
Key information:
- A GP referral is required
- Referrals are valid for up to 12 chiropractic sessions or 12 months, whichever occurs first
- Clients can have as many treatment cycles as their GP determines is clinically necessary with a new referral
Booking Your DVA Appointment
Follow these steps:
Step 1 - Book an appointment with your GP to obtain a referral for DVA-funded chiropractic care. Be sure to note your DVA card type (Gold or White).
Step 2 - Schedule your appointment online, by phone or in person with Biotune Chiropractic
Step 3 - Bring the following documents to your appointment: GP referral, DVA card and any relevant reports or imaging (if applicable)
Managing Client Fees and Claims
Eligible DVA services are bulk billed and claimed directly with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs by Biotune Chiropractic,
with no out-of-pocket expenses.
